Eye Beauty Tips
Fabulous Looking Eyes Made Simple

Having great looking eyes does not have to take hours, or a ton of makeup and a professional makeup artist. Keeping your eyes looking beautiful can be simple if you know some of the tricks of the makeup trade. Getting rid of puffiness, dark circles, and problem areas around the eyes, as well as tired eyes, is easy by following the following beauty tips for eyes.

Here are several ways to remove dark circles around your eyes:

Dip cotton balls into cold milk, then place them on your closed eyes for ten minutes to banish dark circles.

Massage almond cream into the area around your eyes. Leave on for five minutes, then gently wipe off with a cotton ball.

Use cotton balls dipped into rosewater and place them on your closed eyes. Leave on for ten minutes, then gently remove with a wet cotton ball.

Grate a small potato. Squeeze the juice from the grated potato, and apply this juice around the eyes to get rid of dark circles.

Place tea bags that have been dipped in cold water on your closed eyes to say bye-bye to black circles. This also refreshes and soothes your eyes at the same time.

Use a good whitening cream and gently massage it in around the eyes, starting at the very corner and working outward to the outside of your eye.

Strain or squeeze a fresh cucumber for the juice. Apply this juice to the area below your eyes each night before bed.

Mix together one fourth of a tomato, with the pulp smashed, lemon juice, turmeric powder, and besan, or gramflour. Use this paste on dark circles under your eyes, let it dry, and then gently wash off the dried paste.

Grind three almonds into a coarse powder. Add cold milk, one teaspoon at a time, and make into a paste. Put this paste on your eyes, leave it on until it dries, and then gently wipe it off with a damp rag or cotton balls.

To disguise any dark circles with tiny lines in or around them, gently apply a light colored foundation to the circles. Using small feathery strokes, gently smooth out the foundation to disguise the circles and fill in the lines.

Take a couple of drops of coconut oil and massage this into the skin around your eyes to eliminate dark circles under your eyes.

To Get Rid Of Puffy Eyes:

A potato works great for puffiness around the eyes. There are a few different ways that you can use a potato to do this. Put a potato into the fridge for an hour, then grate it skin and all. Place the potato in a cloth and securely close it. Place the cloth over your closed eyes for fifteen or twenty minutes to get rid of puffiness and give your eyes a boost. Thick slices of potato or the grated potato can also be placed directly on the closed eyes without a cloth.

Make a paste by combining nutmeg and sandalwood. Right before bed, apply this paste to your eye area and leave on all night. Gently wash off the residue when you wake in the morning.

Take a fresh cucumber and squeeze or crush it until you get the juice from it. Combine this juice with a small amount of rose water, and apply this mixture to the skin around your eyes. Leave it on for half an hour, and then softly rinse it off.

Makeup and Beauty Tips for the Eye Area

When applying makeup or cream with a finger around the eye area, always use your ring finger. This finger uses less pressure on the skin and so there is less chance of damage or lines.

If you have eyes that are small, use makeup to open them up and make them bigger. Use beiges, grays, and brown shades, but subtly. Use three colors of eyeshadow that work in harmony together and will blend. Use the darkest shade only in the crease of your eyelid. Use the lightest shade above the crease of your lid up to your brow. Use the middle shade for the lower portion of your eyelid below the crease. This trick will make your eyes appear a lot larger that they really are.

If your eyes are deep set, pluck your eyebrow hair under the brow. This will make your eyes appear very large.

To apply mascara to your lashes, use the brush in an outward sweep on the underside of the lashes on top. Once that has dried, apply another layer of mascara to the lashes. Once the second coat of mascara is dry, separate the individual lashes with an eyelash or eyebrow brush or comb.

To remove mascara without doing any damage to your lashes, simply rub a little bit of moisturizer on your lashes and then wipe off.

Choose eye makeup that is cream based. Powders can enter the eyes and cause a lot of irritation.

For thick eyebrows hair should be removed. This is done with tweezers, and you should always pluck the hair from the inner corners. Before you begin to remove hairs from your brow, you should draw in the brow you want to achieve with an eyebrow pencil. This step will help you define which hairs should be removed. Always pull hair in the direction that the hair is growing with a quick pull. If you remove hair from above the brow instead of below the brow, the regrowth of hair may appear to have a greenish cast.

Shape your eyebrows according to the shape of your face. If you have a long face, you can give the look of width by extending the brow past the outer corners of your eyes. If your face has a square shape, start at the inner corners of the eye and remove hair gently curving out to the outer corner. If you consider your face round, try to keep a straight arch on your brow.

Other Eye Care Tips

Combine together potato and cucumber juice in equal parts and chill. Dip cotton balls in this mixture and place on closed eyelids for twenty minutes to half an hour. Gently wash off this mixture and lightly apply a small amount of baby oil to your eye area.

To keep your long lashes extra strong use castor oil. Applying a light coat to your lashes every night will keep them long and healthy. This will also cool and refresh your eyes.

Combine equal parts lemon and tomato juice and put this mixture on the skin surrounding the eyes. Leave on for half an hour, then wash off with cold and hot alternating water.

Add a tiny amount of salt to cold water and wash your eyes with it. This will cause your eyes to sparkle and be bright.

Apply two thin cucumber slices to eyes and leave on for fifteen minutes. This will give tired eyes a new energy.

Occasionally splash your eyes with cold water. This will give them a sparkle as well as relax them.

Create a weak tea solution. Dip cotton balls into this mixture and then apply to closed eyes for fifteen minutes. This will invigorate your eyes and get rid of any tiredness around them. If you wear contact lenses, make sure that you take them out frequently. Do not ever wear the lenses overnight, because this can cause aggravation to your eye and lead to complications.

Try not to rub your eyes. Bacteria and viruses can transfer from your hands to your eyes by rubbing them. Most people do not wash their hands before they rub their eyes, and contamination occurs frequently through this method.

When splashing your eye area with water, do so gently. By roughly splashing water into your eyes, small particles can also be forcefully pushed into the eye. This can cause a small amount of damage to your cornea that can cause problems.

When wiping your eyes, use disposable tissues. Handkerchiefs may have bacteria or minute particles on them that can cause infections or damage to your eyes.

Never use the same package of mascara or other eye makeup for more than one year at the most and preferably not more than six months. After this time bacteria can grow and cause an eye infection.

Never ever share eye makeup with anyone else. It does not matter if it is a family member or best friend; once makeup is shared it is no longer hygienic.
